THE DESIGN PROCESS
The Designer likes to draw inspiration from uniform and generic garments like
the t-shirt, the shirt, the tank top, the tuxedo jacket and the tailored pants.
His design process involves a first crucial step of understanding the semiotic
meaning of each garment by an deconstruction, which is followed by a process
of reconstruction where the garments are reassembled in a subtly hybrid shape.
In a radical way the Designer re-appropriates an iconic Yves Saint Laurent tuxedo
jacket he bought second-hand at Guerisold in Paris, when slice cutting it at
the waistline, defining a new silhouette. By questioning the normality and the
meaning of each garment the Designer aims to generate new hybrids of existing
generic garments that can be worn by both boys and girls.
THE DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
'Hybrid reconstruction' is a personally developed design philosophy about morphin
different generic garments into one hybrid object, in a seamless process of
reconstructio where the possibilities are endless.
